In 30 years of working in healthcare I've seen a shift in practices, away from hands on patient "care" and toward increasing use of medication and technology to achieve "disease management". I was frustrated by the trends I saw, and I realized that the average person feels overwhelmed and confused by lack of connection to their health practitioner, and by the modern paradox of too much information, and too little knowledge. ( your Dr speaks another language "Medical-eese" and the internet is full of Whack Jobs....)
